Poor Yorick Reading Series: “Soap Box”

August 27 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We’re continuing our monthly reading series with another virtual open mic! Cozy up with your favorite beverage and share your poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. This month’s theme is a ready platform for our ideas and truths, whether we choose to stand on it our think outside of it.

SOAP: a cleansing agent or saucy melodrama

BOX: a container used to protect objects or limit thinking

We will be hosting the event virtually on Microsoft Teams. Contact the event organizer for an invitation.

This event is brought to you by the editorial team at Poor Yorick: A Journal of Rediscovered Objects, which is the online literary publication of Western Connecticut State University’s M.F.A. Program. The journal publishes poems, stories, essays, photo essays, and other innovative works about rediscovery, the lost and the found – what we bury, and what we dig up. The editor will be on hand at the open mic to talk submissions, too; if this sounds like your kind of publication, contact us!
