Poor Yorick Reading Series: Bal Masque
October 29, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
We’re continuing our monthly reading series with a virtual open mic, fireside chat, and masquerade ball! Don your most debonair mask and share your poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. Stick around for an open discussion between readers and writers.
This month’s theme is a celebration of mischief and mystery, in the name of good, clean fun. Featuring special presentations from contributors to our “Hallows Eve Horror” special publication, to be released on Halloween.
This event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. Contact the Poor Yorick team for an invitation.
BALL (BAL): a fun sphere or a good time
MASK (MASQUE): a face covering to hide one’s identity, for protection or intrigue
This event is brought to you by the editorial team at Poor Yorick: A Journal of Rediscovery, which is the online literary publication of Western Connecticut State University’s M.F.A. Program. The journal publishes poems, stories, essays, photo essays, and other innovative works about rediscovery, the lost and the found – what we bury, and what we dig up. The editor will be on hand at the open mic to talk submissions, too; if this sounds like your kind of publication, contact us!
